fieldwork did not start in 2026. it started in a Fullerton office in 2017 as a studio that believed phones were the new theatres, and a channel that believed the diaspora deserved its own newsroom. the names changed. the founder, the lens and the instinct did not.
a portfolio company of The Vast Group. scripted and unscripted vertical video for the screens people actually carried. four properties in development: Fashion FWD, Gov Wildstar, The Disruptors, Vice and Sins.
the first channel. thirty-one episodes of 1Des Daily News, a cut of LA India Fashion Week, five video essays. twelve episodes are still public on the original channel. nineteen have never been seen outside the room they were cut in.
the studio instinct and the newsroom instinct, pointed at one house and a short stretch of time. small cohorts of working creators. fenced, by design. the first session was Desert Dwell, April 2026.
